Paris Obscur tells us a musical family story starring his so human and endearing characters.
Being born and almost dying during this very first day of life, on Halloween 1978 makes a very uncommon destiny.
Paris Obscur is a commanding man. Through his stature, first, through his voice, also. But more than anything else, his presence will brand your heart and mind.
Sometimes quiet and observant, sometimes as passionate as a burning volcano, Paris Obscur is the kind of man that you would simply not forget.
His strong sense of humor, his extrovert personality will give you the feeling that he is a genuine and self-assured person.
He would be easily pictured as a company boss or as a politician.
Sticking to these prejudices would, though, be a terrible mistake. Not that it would be wrong, it would simply be incomplete.
And there is no better way to discover his inner secret garden than through his unique and magnificient art.
He delivers a range of emotions that only those who have a torn heart can express.
He shows us his cracks, his delicateness, his sensitivity.
He goes on smiling, but sometimes, he cries too.
Paris Obscur creates his own music that does not need to stick to any given genre or category. His genre is Paris Obscur.
And his voice ... so uncommon, so rich, a deep bass voice with full harmonics, sensual, husky, sometimes ethereal, sometimes guttural... is such a beautiful instrument to express his art.
Paris Obscur also loves drawing, painting or staging. This particularity (he creates, builds and plays himself all his shows) makes his work so coherent and beautiful at the same time.
This deep immersion in his universe will change your life forever.
There is something we can say for sure about Paris Obscur : he is moved by an incredible urge to live that he has the generosity to share with us.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the rare, precious and enchanting world of Paris Obscur.
The story starts with Leonard Cohen's song : Le Partisan. A man survives WWII. Alone. Without betraying the memory of his first family, he decides to find love once again, a woman who gives him two lovely boys. Sadly, the woman dies while giving birth, leaving her husband alone to raise their two sons. These three destinies are told in Paris Obscur's songs, all inspired by real stories, lived, related, distorted experiences.
The stories are told in a way that is neither scientific nor journalistic. Paris Obscur rather focuses on points of views, perspectives especially those of different characters about a same given situation.
It is an intense and dangerous travel through strong and contradictory emotions. The author has carefully avoided any strong moral position while telling his stories. The listener alone will judge and define the limits of what can be considered as acceptable.
Back from WWII, after having lost his wife and children, he meets love again. His new wife, the Dead Mother, gives him two beautiful boys, the Rapist and the Depressed Schizoid Hero.
Burnt by a very uncommon fate, will he eventually find peace or will he drown in the darkness of his soul ?

He was having since childhood such a strange love/hate relationship with women. He killed without wanting it the Dead Mother. He raped the Princess. He behaved badly with the Ignored Wife, blinded by her love for him. He found his very own way to pay for his sins by letting the Sadist have his own fun with him.
How could he survive such a destiny ?

Will the meeting with the Rapist be as great as expected ?

Stupid and nasty. Black or white. No shade of grey for him, the man with a heart full of anger and bitterness. Only venom and violence exists for him.
Would this man full of hatred eventually be the real hero of these sordid stories by making the Rapist pay for all his crimes, through pain and humiliation ?

He is waiting for his mother, the Suicidal Wife, in the next world. He will never know his father, the Depressed Schizoid Hero. Would he have been a dentist or a musician ? Noone will ever know.
When you consider it all, with such a family, perhaps can we be happy for him that he never survived ?
